J.C. Chasez is revealing the details of Sunday night's *NSync reunion at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The former boy band member spoke on Ryan Seacrest's radio show on Monday, revealing that the reunion was Justin Timberlake's idea. Chasez admits that it was "the worst-kept secret ever" in the days beforehand, but said it was "just a matter of time" until the group got back on stage together.
He says he got a call from Justin, who asked him to be a part of the 15-minute performance that led up to Justin's acceptance of the network's coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Chasez said Justin told him that since they all "started our careers at MTV," it would be a fitting moment to "get the band back together."
It's been over a decade since *NSync broke up, but Chasez said that "two minutes after seeing everybody" at rehearsals, it felt like "no time has passed." He also joked that it was "pretty funny" when the group took a little longer to get their dance routine down.
J.C. also revealed that there won't be a reunion tour coming anytime soon. Listen below:
