Undefeated Big Ten leaders Michigan and Michigan State are set for their first meeting of the season tomorrow night in East Lansing.  But bad news for MSU, the third-ranked Spartans will play the next 4-5 weeks without starting junior forward Branden Dawson, who broke a bone in his hand he slammed on a table during film review.  MSU remains without Adreian Payne, who is likely to miss a fifth straight game with a foot sprain.  Pregame coverage begins at 6:30pm tomorrow night - Tip-off at 7pm over on Newsradio WOOD 1300 & 106.9 FM.

The Detroit Red Wings host the Montreal Canadiens tonight in their first matchup as Atlantic Division competitors.  Game time at the Joe is 7:30pm.

The Calder Cup Champion Grand Rapids Griffins visit the Texas Stars tonight and tomorrow night.  Labatt Griffins Hockey pregame show coverage starts at 8:10 this evening over on WOOD Radio 1300 & 106.9 FM.

The Detroit Pistons are in action tonight at the Palace to play the New Orleans Pelicans for the second time this season.  Tip-off is 7:30pm.

Reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer says a contract extension with the Tigers isn't imminent.  The right-hander agreed last week to a one-year deal for more than 15-million dollars to avoid arbitration.  Scherzer added during the kickoff to the team's winter caravan that he wants to remain in Detroit.

And just a reminder that tomorrow afternoon ESPN 96.1 will feature a local college basketball rivalry as #6 Cornerstone University visits #13 Davenport University.  Bret Bakita and John Kenyon will be courtside with the call starting with pregame coverage at 2:45pm - Tip-off is 3pm at the D-U Student Center right here on ESPN 96.1.  The game has been named the NAIA National Game of the Week!
