Michigan's 2014 signing class was never going to be large, but it does feature one highly top end player in Jabrill Peppers out of New Jersey.  ESPN.com ranked this year's class for U-M as #16 overall in the country. 

Michigan State's 2014 signing class remains a work in progress, with the Spartans awaiting the signed national letter of intent from Southfield defensive end Malik McDowell, the #1 prospect in the state of Michigan.  Junior college offensive lineman Miguel Machado, of Pasadena City College, made a verbal commitment to the Spartans late last night.  MSU could finish with a Top 20 class in the nation. 

The 16th-ranked Michigan Wolverines rebounded from their first Big Ten loss over the weekend to beat Nebraska (79-50).  Glenn Robinson III paced U-M with 23 points, Zak Irvin and Caris LeVert each added 16.  U-M is now (17-5) overall and (9-1) in the Big Ten. 

The 8th-ranked MSU Spartans are back on their homecourt tonight when they host Penn St..  Tip-off is set for 9pm at the Breslin Center, and Spartans center Adreian Payne is expected to play after missing the last 6 games with a sprained foot. 

The Detroit Red Wings are back on the ice tonight when they skate against the Florida Panthers...game time is set for 7:30pm.  In the AHL, the Griffins got shutout by the Lake Erie Monsters last night (4-0) at Van Andel Arena.  Grand Rapids is next in action tomorrow night at 7pm against the Toronto Marlies. 

The Detroit Pistons wrapped up a two-game trip to Florida with a (112-98) loss to the Magic last night.  Josh Smith led the Pistons with 25 points and 12 rebounds.  They will host Brooklyn tomorrow night at the Palace. 

Finally, the Hope College men's basketball team completed the regular season sweep of Calvin last night (83-65).  Alex Eidson led the way for the Flying Dutchmen with 17 points.  Hope is now (14-6) overall and (8-1) in the MIAA.
