Don't forget to check out the 2014 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies tonight on WOOD-TV 8.  Their coverage will begin at 7pm with a special live 30-minute show hosted by sports director - Jack Doles - "Olympic Hopes - Gold Dreams" focusing on the Olympians competing from the state of Michigan. 

#8 Michigan St. improved to (9-1) in Big Ten play...(20-3) overall with an impressive (82-67) win over Penn St. last night at the Breslin Center.  MSU played without Branden Dawson and Keith Appling who were out with injuries, but senior center Adreian Payne did return and scored 12 points off the bench.  Also, the Spartans were led by Kenny Kaminski who shot 5 of 6 from behind the arc and scored a career-high 19 points. 

On the ice, the Red Wings garnered another win last night on the road against Florida.  Former Griffin Gustav Nyquist had the game-winning goal for Detroit.  The Grand Rapids Griffins will skate tonight on the road against the Toronto Marlies.  Pregame coverage with Bob Kaser begins at 6:40pm with Faceoff time scheduled for 7pm over on Newsradio WOOD 1300 and 106.9 FM. 

The Detroit Pistons will try to pick up another win tonight when they host the Brooklyn Nets at the Palace....Tip-off time is 7:30pm, and our Wendy's High School Basketball Game of the Week this evening is an OK-White conference rematch as Jension hosts Grand Rapids Christian.  It is a 'Pink Out' tonight in Wildcat Country with coverage beginning at 7:15pm with Bret Bakita and John Kenyon...right here on ESPN 96.1 and streaming live at
