Congratulations to U-M sophomore guard Nik Stauskas on being named Big Ten Player of the Week!  Stauskas had 25 points and 5 assists in Sunday's win over Michigan State.  The Wolverines tip-off against Purdue on the road tomorrow night. 

Florida is the new number-one team in men's college basketball at (25-2) after Syracuse lost to Boston College and Duke last week.  Unbeaten Wichita St. at (29-0) moves up to #2, Arizona #3, Louisville #4 and Syracuse comes in at #5 this week.  Michigan at (19-7) moved up to #16 in both polls.  MSU at (22-6) dropped to 18th. in both polls. 

The Detroit Pistons lost to the Golden St. Warriors last night at the Palace - (104-96).  Greg Monroe had 23 points to lead the Pistons.  Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 19 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds.  Detroit travels to San Antonio to take on the Spurs tomorrow night. 

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. celebrated his 37th. birthday yesterday by announcing on Twitter his next opponent.  "Money" Mayweather will fight fellow welterweight titleholder Marcos Maidana on May 3rd.  A venue for the bout has yet to be determined. 

The Detroit Tigers open exhibition play this afternoon with their annual game against Florida Southern University.  Alex Avila, who has been dealing with back spasms, may not appear behind the plate until Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Atlanta Braves at Joker Marchant Stadium. 

And finally, the regular season finale of the Wendy's High School Basketball Game of the Week takes place tonight as (15-4) Jenison visits OK-Blue Conference Champ - Comstock Park (16-2).  Bret Bakita and John Kenyon will have pregame coverage beginning at 7pm this evening live here on ESPN 96.1 and streaming live worldwide on Prepsmi.com.
