The Detroit Lions are bringing back Benton Harbor running back - Joique Bell. The two sides have agreed to a 3-year contract worth $9.3 million dollars. Bell played all 16 games last season, rushing for 650 yards and 8 TDs. Also, Detroit is in the market for a wide receiver, and the Lions are taking a look at free agent Golden Tate. ESPN is reporting that Tate was headed to Detroit last night for a visit. He has spent the last four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.
The Columbus Blue Jackets scored 3 goals in the third period to break a 1-1 tie and pick up a huge, (4-1) win over the Red Wings. Columbus now sits with 73 points where Detroit has 71 as they battle for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Josh Smith scored 24 points and Rodney Stuckey chipped in with 23 as the Pistons beat Sacramento (99-89). Detroit is now (25-39), and they will be in Toronto tonight to face the Raptors. Tip-off time is 7pm.
Brad Glenn hit a solo home run in the 10th. inning to lead Toronto to a (3-2) victory over Detroit yesterday in Grapefruit League action. Justin Verlander picked up two strikeouts, allowed one hit and walked two in 3 2\3 innings. The Tigers travel to take on the New York Yankees this afternoon. First pitch is 1:05pm.
