Adreian Payne had 18 points and 9 rebounds to carry the #22 Michigan State Spartans to a (69-55) win over #8 Michigan yesterday in the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game. Branden Dawson also had 15 points and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. MSU received a #4 seed in the East Region and will face #13 Delaware in Spokane on Thursday afternoon at 4:40pm. The Tigers and Nats face off again today - 1:05pm is first pitch. But bigger news from Lakeland, Detroit shortstop Jose Iglesias could be sidelined for most of the season with a painful shin injury. The 21-year-old has been dealing with the nagging ailment for years. With Iglesias out, the Tigers could turn to another former Red Sox infielder in Stephen Drew. The 30-year-old Drew remains stuck in free agent purgatory without a team willing to sacrifice a draft pick to sign him.
