The Detroit Red Wings held on for a (3-2) win over the Toronto Maple Leafs last night at the Joe.  Gustav Nyquist scored twice, while Daniel Alfredsson added a goal to bring the Wings within one point of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.  Jimmy Howard stopped 31 shots in goal for the victory.

The Tigers won and lost in split squad action yesterday in the Grapefruit League.  In Lakeland, Detroit beat Toronto (18-4), and Don Kelly had a grand slam...plus, Austin Jackson smacked a two run shot.  Meanwhile in Port St. Lucie, the Mets beat the Tigers (5-4), but Miguel Cabrera hit a solo home run.
