It was the Adreian Payne show yesterday for the #4 seed Michigan St. Spartans as they dismantled #13 seed Delaware (93-78).  Payne posted a career-high 41 points...Travis Trice scored 19 points.  MSU will play #12 seed Harvard tomorrow night at 8:40pm. 

Nik Stauskas scored 15 points to lead #2 seed U-M  over #15 Wofford (57-40) last night.  Jordan Morgan posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Wolverines as well.  Michigan will face #7 seed Texas tomorrow at 5:15pm - Pregame coverage begins at 4:40pm over on Newsradio WOOD 1300 & 106.9 FM. 

Western Michigan fell short of moving on yesterday as they fell to #3 seed Syracuse (77-53). 

Daniel Alfredsson scored with just 0.4 seconds left in overtime to lift the Detroit Red Wings to a (5-4) win over the Pittsburgh Penguins last night at the Joe.  Jimmy Howard made 39 saves in the win. 

The Detroit Tigers lost to the Washington Nationals (8-1) yesterday afternoon.  Starter Max Scherzer was roughed up, giving up five runs on seven hits while striking out eight in 5 2\3 innings.  Opening Day starter Justin Verlander gets the nod as the Tigers visit the Atlanta Braves this afternoon - First pitch is 1:05pm.  Tigers officials have confirmed that shortstop Jose Iglesias has been diagnosed with stress fractures in both of his legs.  Iglesias will be re-evaluated in four months, but he could be out of the lineup until 2015. 

One of the top offensive line prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft faces three misdemeanor assault charges.  Former Michigan offensive tackle Taylor Lewan has been charged with one count of aggravated assault and two counts of assault and battery.  On December 1st, two Ohio St. fans reported they were assaulted by Lewan in Ann Arbor.  The incident was about eight hours after the Wolverines lost to the Buckeyes. 

Finally, the Wendy's Road to the Breslin Center coverage continues today with Class A Semifinal action - #1 ranked and unbeaten Muskegon (26-0) will face (22-4) Mt. Pleasant, and we will have it live with Bret Bakita and John Kenyon with coverage beginning at 12:45pm this afternoon right here on ESPN 96.1 and streaming at Prepsmi.com.
