The 78th edition of The Masters is now underway at famed Augusta National today.  Adam Scott is your defending Tiger Woods in the field, and three-time winner Phil Mickelson tees off later today in a group with Ernie Els and Justin Rose. 

The Red Wings fell in a shootout last night in Pittsburgh (4-3), but got the necessary point they needed to clinch an Eastern Conference playoff spot.  Detroit will be making their 23rd consecutive Stanley Cup playoff appearance. 

In the AHL, the Griffins are at Charlotte tonight to take on the Checkers...pregame coverage begins at 6:40pm - Faceoff is 7pm over on Newsradio WOOD 1300 & 106.9 FM.  Also, congratulations to right wing Teemu Pulkkinen and defenseman Ryan Sproul for being named yesterday to the AHL All-Rookie team. 

Victor Martinez hit the game-winning home run last night in the top of the 10th inning to send the Tigers past the LA Dodgers (7-6).  Former Whitecap Nick Castellanos also hit his first career home run in the majors, a three-run shot in the third inning.  The Tigers have the day off today before they open a three-game series against the San Diego Padres tomorrow on the road.  

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers defeated the West Michigan Whitecaps (6-1) last night at 5\3rd. Ballpark...the teams will play in the series finale this afternoon starting at Noon. 

Dion Waiters tallied 22 points and 8 assists to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a (122-100) win over the Pistons last night.  Brandon Jennings and Jonas Jerebko each had a team-high 17 points in the loss. 

Finally, a memorial service for eight-year-old Lacey Holsworth, known as "Princess Lacey", has tentatively been set for April 17th. at the Breslin Center in East Lansing.
