The Seattle Seahawks picked up right where they left off in dominating the Packers, (36-16), to kick off the 2014 NFL season.  Marshawn Lynch led the way for the defending Super Bowl champions, scoring two touchdowns and rushing for 110 yards on 20 carries.  Russell Wilson completed 19-of-28 passes for 191 yards, two scores and no turnovers. 

Victor Martinez homered in a seven-run 11th. inning last night as the Detroit Tigers outlasted Cleveland (11-4) at Progressive Field.  Ian Kinsler had three hits and scored twice to lead the Tigers offense, who improved to (77-63).  The Tigers are one game behind Kansas City in the AL Central and a half-game ahead of Seattle for the second Wild Card spot. 

#7 Michigan State will take on #3 Oregon in Eugene tomorrow night - kickoff is 6:30pm, and U-M will travel to South Bend to take on #17 Notre Dame tomorrow night - Pregame coverage begins at 6:30pm over on Newsradio WOOD 1300 & 106.9 FM with kickoff scheduled for 7:30pm. 

#2 Grand Valley St. fell in their season opener last night to #22 Azusa Pacific (26-23) in double-overtime.  The Cougars were led by RB-Terrell Watson, who rushed for 207 yards on 42 carries and the winning score in the second overtime. 

In a do or die situation last night at Fifth-Third Ballpark, the Whitecaps survived...defeating Ft. Wayne (2-1) to force a deciding Game #3 of the series tonight.  First pitch is set for 7pm and tickets are still available at Fifth-Third Ballpark.
