The Detroit Lions have re-signed a veteran cornerback. Rashean Mathis, who joined the Lions for the 2013 season after ten seasons with the Jaguars, has signed a one-year deal (read more here).

The MSU Spartans have lost a sophomore member of their Elite 8 basketball team. As expected, Gary Harris announced yesterday that he will enter the NBA Draft this spring (read more here)

Not to be outdone, word came out yesterday that the Michigan Wolverines will lose sophomore forward Glenn Robinson III to the NBA; he’s expected to sign with an agent this week (read more here). And sophomore sensation Nik Stauskas has announced that he’s made his decision and he’ll reveal all at a news conference later today.

The Detroit Tigers had the day off on Monday following their west coast road trip. Now, the Tigers start a ten-game homestand – the longest of the season. It begins tonight with game one of a three-game series against the Cleveland Indians; first pitch is 7:10.

It became official on Monday; Joe Dumars stepped down as president of the Detroit Pistons (read more here).

Speaking of basketball, details of that NBA Development League team moving to Grand Rapids will be revealed at a press conference later today. The team will be an affiliate of the Detroit Pistons.
