With more than a million Michiganians on the road for the Labor Day holiday weekend, Triple-A Michigan is urging drivers to stay safe and follow the rules of the road as you head to that holiday destination.

In total, more than one-point-12 (M) million Michiganians will travel 50 miles or more over the holiday weekend, with 43-thousand taking to the air and over 79-thousand going by rail, bus or ship.While the number of Michiganians traveling by vehicle for labor day exceeds a million, Triple-A's Susan Hiltz says safety is key to a pleasant weekend.

Nationally, Triple-A estimates 34-point-seven (m) million Americans will travel during the holiday weekend. That's a one-point-three percent increase from one year ago.
