Authorities say a man suspected of robbing a Lansing-area bank led police on a high-speed chase and later was found dead in a deer blind following a standoff.
The Lansing State Journal and The Flint Journal report the robbery happened Monday afternoon in Ingham County's Meridian Township.
Authorities say the man fled in a car on Interstate 69 before crashing into the median and running into the woods in neighboring Shiawassee County. State police and sheriff's deputies set up a perimeter after footprints were seen leading to the deer blind in Shiawassee Township.
Authorities say they monitored the deer blind for several hours. When they went in they say they found that the man had apparently hanged himself.
The man's name wasn't immediately released.  Authorities say he's the only suspect.
