Robert Brown of Kentwood is a Bishop in his Grace Apostolic Church, but 50-years ago he was a medic on the front lines in Vietnam.
Brown served his duty without a weapon as a Conscientious Objector.
Today, he receives the Bronze Star for his service, an honor he did not seek. Brown says he was just doing his job.
WOOD TV reports more than a dozen people owe their lives to his battlefield first-aid and started a letter-writing campaign that got him the commendation.
