The 18 year old Grand Rapids man who fired a gun into a graduation party crowd in Kentwood last summer will spend up to 52 years in prison.

Billy McKinney was sentenced to prison today by Grand Rapids Judge Paul Sullivan, after a March jury found McKinney guilty of attempted murder, felonious assault and felony use of a firearm.

Several party goers were wounded in the shooting. Judge Sullivan told McKinney people in Grand Rapids are sick of gang violence.

McKinney was allegedly a member of the Grand Rapids Bemis Boys gang. Members of a rival gang were at the party in Kentwood.
