You are probably familiar with the story of the two dogs that fatally mauled a man as he jogged along a Lapeer County road earlier this month. It was the third attack by animals from the same property since 2012.

The owner of the two dogs faces second-degree murder charges.

Someone said there should be a law against that kind of dog behavior. There could be. Kalamazoo Democratic State Representative Sean McCann has introduced a bill that would protect kids, pedestrians, utility workers and animal control officers from dangerous dogs.

McCann's bill focuses on specific dog behaviors, rather than breeds, requiring dog owners to protect people from them.
