The LeBron James sweepstakes has ended. King LeBron is heading home to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
James' free agency decision was not as dramatic as when he left Cleveland in 2010, but could be as impactful to his new team. The Cavs’ roster has more talent on it than when James left back in 2010, so it will be interesting to see what other dominos fall now that he’s made his future intentions clear. If a couple more proven players head to Cleveland (Mike Miller, Ray Allen), the Cavs could be in business right away in LeBron’s return season.
While the Cavs won’t be favored to win the NBA title next season like the Heat may have been if James had re-signed there, you can automatically consider Cleveland a top-tier playoff team in 2014-15.
