The Michigan Chamber of Commerce will be launching a statewide private health insurance marketplace at the start of September.

Officials say it will help meet the growing demand from employers as they try to comply with the Affordable Care Act. The group directed interested parties to its YouTube video about the marketplace.

Barry Robinson, vice president of Chamber services and membership development, says beginning September 1, individuals and employers can work with their licensed insurance agent of choice and have a single source, multi-carrier insurance solution for comparing and accessing available medical, dental, vision and supplemental insurance plans.

According to the Chamber, the marketplace will also have calculators available to help determine federal subsidy eligibility and potential tax consequences for those failing to enroll in qualified plans.
