The State Senate meets in summer session this week.  As a rule, little happens in these summer meetings, but that may change this week.  The State Senate may vote on two medical marijuana bills.   Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville is a recent convert to the drugs medical properties.

The bills under consideration would allow communities to decide of they want dispensaries in their town, and would allow the sale of things like brownies and oils that contain the active ingredients in marijuana.

Richardville is concerned about people who the drug would help, but are unable to smoke it.

These bills have already passed the house. A senate vote is expected by Wednesday.
