A survey Tuesday from the coupon site Restaurant.com finds more people are eating seafood when they dine and they're dining out more on Thursdays.
"Summer is the season for seafood," the dining deals site said. "Warm weather and beachfront vacations contributed to the nearly 40 percent increase in the popularity of restaurants serving sea-based cuisine."
The survey found most diners went out on Thursday night, with Friday and Saturday dining nights on the decline.
The findings reflect data from four years and the more than 16 million customers who used their coupons from Restaurant.com.
The survey comes on the eve of Restaurant Week in the Grand Rapids area. Organizers say the annual event is meant to expose diners to everything from hipster to hoppy.
