Michigan's Dpartment of Environmental Quality hands $100,000 to the city of Muskegon Heights to help clean up a former industrial plant site.

The land along the 400 block of West Broadway, where Yale-Lift Tech closed up shop four years ago this month will be redeveloped by Versatile Fabrication, a neighboring stainless steel manufacturer.

Yale-Lift Tech had 269 jobs at the time, but Versatile Fabrication told the state government that it will create 15 new jobs, invest $2 million into construction and equipment for the property, and retain more than 50 existing jobs in Muskegon Heights.
