Olympic gold medalist ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White have visited Lansing to be honored by Gov. Rick Snyder.

The athletes attended an event inside the Capitol building Tuesday morning. The governor offered remarks in honor of Michigan's Olympians.

A Special Olympics gold medalist from Ann Arbor, Tia Spremo, also attended.

Davis and White are the first Americans to win an Olympic ice dance title. They grew up in and train in suburban Detroit, and recently were announced as contestants on the upcoming season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."
