Ottawa County Government Gives Itself a Pay Raise

Ottawa County's government approves of a two year pay raise. 

The County Commissioners agree with their appointed Compensation Commission on a three percent pay hike next year, followed by two and a half percent the year after that. 

The Holland Sentinel says that  Commissioners are paid $16,320 now.  The Chairman, $20,400. 

Other elected officials, like the Sheriff, Prosecutor and Clerk also are to receive similar increases.

Government offices had a pay cut during the Recession in 2010.
