The school board in Plainwell reads a public denunciation of its superintendent.
Board president Amy Blades said a student had brought some kind of fake gun to school, but the incident was not handled properly.
According to the school board's statement, which was not contradicted by Superintendent Sue Wakefield, she did not notify police or the school board, and afterward made several statements to the board that were not true.
WOOD TV had reported that Wakefield was suspended without pay for one day as a result.
After last night's board meeting, she told reporters there are "lessons to be learned" and she looks forward to continuing her job
