Downtown Grand Rapids Inc is hosting the Midwest Urban District Forum, a conference for the public and professionals to discuss urban trends.

The Midwest Urban District Forum will include educational discussions related to community engagement, talent attraction, and transformative projects. The forum will conclude with a keynote address by Richard Saul Wurman, a heralded American architect, designer, and creator of the TED conference.

Kristopher Larson, President and CEO of Downtown Grand Rapids Inc., remarked on the event, "This will be great opportunity to show off Grand Rapids to our peers from across the country. We feel honored that the IDA selected us to host this conference, and we look forward to sharing in the discussions about our downtown and others."

Larson tells WOOD Radio planners from several Midwest states and cities are offering ideas on what they do best.....and we are offering a few of our own.

"We are showing everything from how to produce an "ArtPrize," to things like the Grand River restoration and how to create new revenue streams, such as the Grand Rapids parks millage."
