In about one month, the Grand Rapids  Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #97 changes its name.

That FOP Lodge is the only one ever to have had a sitting United States President as a member.

On June 20th, Lodge 97 President Paul Johnson says his officers will dedicate the "Gerald R Ford Metro Lodge."

Jerry Ford already had been an Associate Member of the Lodge before he became President, as a Congressman representing Grand Rapids.  Johnson tells WOOD Radio that President Ford accepted honorary full membership during his time in the White House.

Johnson says this will be celebrated in a special dedication at the 75th anniversary of the local Lodge on June 20th.
