Workers at dozens of Staples Office Supply stores in Michigan are waiting to find out whether they'll still be employed after the company shuts down about 12% of its North American stores.

The company announced the impending closure of about 225 stores after reporting a drop in fourth quarter 2013 sales.

This news follows Tuesday's announcement that electronics retailer Radio shack, which also has a strong Michigan presence, would be closing about 20% of its stores in the U.S. totaling up to eleven-hundred closures.
