Tanger Outlets announced plans Monday for its ground-breaking ceremony for its new retail center in Grand Rapids.

Tanger Chief Executive officer Steven Tanger will join Byron Township Supervisor Audrey Nevins Weiss and Lt. Gov. Brian Calley for the facility planned for the corner of US-131 and 84th Street.

Planned for the site of what was once Dome World, project developers say 80 retail outlets are planned for the Grand Rapids area.

The Tanger corporation say the ceremony, planned for Thursday, will include a fashion show from some of the brands coming to Grand Rapids.

At least 800 jobs are expected to be created from the new retail center.
