CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – The Kent County Sheriff’s Department now says 10 homes were broken into – not four as originally believed – on Wednesday in Caledonia.

On Thursday, sheriff's investigators said break-ins had occured at homes in the 6300 block of 76th Street SE, the 7600 and 9000 block of 84th Street SE and the 8200 block of Whitneyville Avenue SE.

Then, on Friday, the sheriff’s department said it had learned of six more break-ins in the area, including five more homes on 68th Street SE – one in the 6600 block, two in the 7000 block, one in the 7300 block and one in the 7500 block – and one in the 8100 block of 84th Street SE.

The break-ins all happened between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., the sheriff’s office said, and matched the same method of entry – the suspect or suspects either pried doors open or clawed through unlocked windows.
