According to multiple reports, Vice President Joe Biden will be visiting the Motor City for Detroit’s Labor Day Parade next Monday.
It would be the second time in three years, the Vice President is slated to stop in Detroit for Labor Day. In 2012, Biden spoke at the parade and in 2008 and 2011, before he was elected President, Barack Obama attended.
Biden has been to Detroit frequently throughout the last few years, as he also headlined a fundraiser for Michigan Democrats last April.
The first Labor Day celebration - designated as the first Monday in September - occurred in 1882 in New York City. It became an official national holiday in 1884.
