A man flipped his boat on Loon Lake in Montcalm county just before 5 p.m. Wednesday but the neighbors who paddle-boated to his rescue also flipped over.
Montcalm County Sheriff's Deputies say the 61 year old man from Crystal was more than a hundred yards offshore when his 12-foot boat dumped him into the drink.
Two women saw it happen and called 9-1-1 before getting on their paddleboat. All three were in the water, however, when the Montcalm County Dive Team and the Crystal Township Fire Department arrived.
The man was in the very cold water, which has been liquid for only a short time, for about half an hour. He was treated and released from Carson City Hospital.
The women were okay.
Deputies say life jackets were not worn by any of the three.
