Muskegon wants to install a warning system along Pere Marquette Beach.

There is no warning system now for rip currents or high winds.

The plan is to fix that situation with a couple of towers that have warning lights, loudspeakers, and flags to warn of specific dangers.

City hall in Muskegon is trying to raise the $60,000 cost now and WOOD TV reports hopes to have the new towers up in a couple months.
