It took decades to bring murder warrants for Ryan Wyngarden, it was more than an hour before his statement ended and sentence was rendered today.

The 51 year old convicted in the deaths of his sister Gail and brother in law Rick Brink was given life with no hope of parole in Ottawa County Circuit Court. The proceeding began at 11:30 a.m. with family members offering victim impact statements.

Wyngarden was found in trial testimony to have had a sexual relationship with his sister, the murders of Gail and Rick Brink in 1987 reportedly stemmed from the sibling's break. Wyngarden denied involvement in the deaths during an extended statement before the court.
