You Are On The Human Buffet!

If you visit any high style Vegas or California casino, you will find no one to argue with about the casino buffets! They offer patrons the best value and variety for the money. There are even guest that do not gamble, yet travel to savor the flavor of the high class buffets. The food is made by well-known chefs, the quality of the food is high and the buffets take up the room, filled with every kind of cuisine imaginable.

I frequently visit my favorite West Michigan place for a brunch buffet; Charley’s Crab in Grand Rapids. I am always impressed by the presentation of the food. The display looks amazing, the hot foods are hot, cold foods are cold. The room is abundantly filled with various food items, juicy meat from the land and sea, vibrant fruit, fresh salads and vegetables, breads, pastas, dessert and so much more. Excuse me while I drool. There are always adequate utensils and the service from the attentive staff is consistently stellar.

I could not imagine walking into the place or paying the hefty bill if I saw dirty dishes, food that was undercooked/ overcooked, moldy or gross looking. It is safe to say…PEOPLE EAT WITH THEIR EYES FIRST! Foods and drinks that look colorful, juicy or delicious are appealing. The same sentiment happens when it comes to networking. People look at you and immediately size you up. If you are looking disheveled and unorganized, unkempt and mean…guess what you may not get a second look. You are on the human buffet. How well do you present to others? Are you appetizing and appealing or old and cold, stale and pale? Make sure you are hot and ready!

1) Get organized, you never get a second chance to make a 1st impression!

2) Always look your best! Spend an extra 5-10 minutes on yourself in the am. The extra time you spend on yourself to prepare for the day can be the determining factor of who you connect to and how much money you can make. People do business with people they know, like and trust.

3) You are never fully dressed without a smile!
