Bill would give vaccinated Michiganders tax credits

A bill in the Michigan Legislature would give Michiganders who are vaccinated against COVID-19 a tax break.

State Representative Rachel Hood, D-Grand Rapids, says the bill would encourage people to get the shots and help the state reach the 70 percent goal.

If passed, the bill would give individuals ages 16 and older a $100 tax credit with a maximum of $400 per household.

Michiganders would need to send a copy of their vaccination card with their state income tax return as proof.
