UNDATED, Mich. -- As Michigan residents prepare to deck the halls this holiday season, many will be tuning in to Mariah Carey's iconic "All I Want for Christmas Is You." According to a study by FinanceBuzz, this song has been named the most popular Christmas song in Michigan for 2025.
The study used Google Trends and surveys to determine the favorite Christmas song in each state. In Michigan, Carey's song topped the list, continuing its reign as a holiday staple. Since its release in 1994, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" has become a modern classic, often dominating airwaves from November onward.
The song's popularity isn't limited to Michigan. It was the top Christmas song in nine states last year, and it consistently ranks among the top five holiday songs in many others. Despite its widespread appeal, the song also ranks as the most annoying Christmas song according to some survey respondents, who find its frequent play overwhelming.
For those interested in the broader holiday music landscape, FinanceBuzz's analysis revealed that "Santa Baby" and "Jingle Bells" were also top contenders in several states.
