Muskegon Police investigate fatal shooting of 72-year-old as a homicide

MUSKEGON, Mich. -- Muskegon Police have not released yet the name of a 72-year-old man who was fatally shot Monday.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. on Jiroch Street near Irwin Avenue.

Captain Tim Bahorski said in a news release the man was shot in the upper body, and died at the scene.

The Muskegon Department of Public Safety said the incident is being investigated by detectives as a homicide.
