The Tampa Bay Rays are on the brink of securing their third World Series appearance as they face the Cleveland Guardians in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS) tonight at Tropicana Field. The Rays lead the series 3-2 after winning two consecutive games in Cleveland, including a 3-1 victory on Sunday (October 18) behind a strong performance from pitcher Drew Rasmussen. Rasmussen allowed just one run over seven innings, helping the Rays take control of the series, as reported by Yahoo Sports.

The Rays' pitching staff has been a key factor in their success, with Freddy Peralta set to start Game 6. Peralta delivered six scoreless innings in Game 2 and is expected to perform without limitations despite a brief relief appearance in Game 4. MLB.com notes that the Guardians will rely on a bullpen game, with Slade Cecconi potentially starting.

Rays star Yandy Díaz has been instrumental, contributing five hits in the last two games. "It's a great opportunity. All of us are thinking of it," Díaz said, expressing confidence in the team's ability to clinch the series tonight.

The winner of the ALCS will face the National League champion Milwaukee Brewers in the World Series, starting Friday (October 23). Both the Rays and Brewers are seeking their first championship, making this a historic matchup.
