Car ends up in a creek in Holland Township after crash

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A single-vehicle accident closed a busy intersection in Holland Township on Wednesday afternoon.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says the car wound up on its side in a creek. The Felch Street/Beeline Road intersection was closed after the crash, which occurred around 2:25 p.m.

The name, age and hometown of the driver were being withheld by police at the time of this report.

Police say the driver suffered critical injuries and had to be removed from the vehicle before being taken to a hospital.

The intersection was closed so police could conduct an on-scene investigation.

Motorists were asked to avoid the general area during the late afternoon.

Besides sheriff's deputies, AMR Ambulance and Holland Township Fire responded to the scene.
