The City of Grand Rapids has made investments totaling $81,800 to help support 20 different community projects. It's all being made possible by contracts brought forward by local resident leaders as part of the city's Neighborhood Match Fund (NMF) program.
Each project is led or co-led by a Grand Rapids resident, and the city says it will accept NMF project submissions for its next round from June 1 to June 30 for projects set to take place from September through February.
Some of the projects to receive funding include the Garfield Park Neighborhood Association, whose April 7 project aims to educate Garfield Park Neighborhood residents on civic engagement and public safety opportunities, and the Family Outreach Center, whose May 17 project will provide the community with valuable resources, family-friendly games, food and opportunities to engage with neighbors.
