Hospice of Michigan’s Barley, BBQ & Beats fundraising event is returning to Grand Rapids from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 at GLC Live at 20 Monroe.
Barley, BBQ & Beats is the not-for-profit’s signature fundraising event featuring hand-crafted cocktails (and mocktails) from local distilleries, mouthwatering barbecue courtesy of local pit masters and restaurants, and live musical performances – all to support access to not-for-profit hospice. The fundraiser has grown every year since its inaugural event in Grand Rapids in 2016. In 2025, the fundraiser will also be in:
· Detroit – 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 25 at Saint Andrew’s Hall
· Ann Arbor – 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11 at Revel Run
· Alpena – 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19 at The Aplex
· Traverse City – 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3 at Park Place Hotel & Conference Center
Tickets for all Barley, BBQ & Beats events are on sale now, and can be purchased for $65 in advance at hom.org/bbb or at the door of each event for $75. Ticket holders will be provided tokens at check-in valid for three servings of BBQ and three hand-crafted cocktails. Extra tokens will be available for purchase. Alternative samplings will be available if guests have dietary restrictions.
Grand Rapid’s Barley, BBQ & Beats will feature live performances by premier party band Brena and the talented Robin Horlock, adding to the event’s lively atmosphere.
All those who donate during the event will have the opportunity to double their contributions thanks to the Steve and Amy Van Andel Foundation. The “Make it a Double” Matching Gift will generously match donations made the night of the events in all five locations. Proceeds from Barley, BBQ & Beats support Hospice of Michigan’s Open Access Program, which helps ensure end-of-life care to all, regardless of age, diagnosis or financial circumstances.
“This year will be Barley, BBQ & Beats’ last call in Grand Rapids,” said Barbara Anderson, associate vice president of philanthropy for Hospice of Michigan. “While our west Michigan community members know how to have a good time, they also understand the importance of supporting a good cause. All ticket sales and donations at the Grand Rapids event will support access to the highest quality not-for-profit hospice care. We encourage everyone to secure their tickets in advance because last year, these events sold out fast.”
Barley, BBQ & Beats guests can honor a deceased loved one by posting a photo or writing their name on the Memorial Wall, available at all five events.
Statewide Barley, BBQ & Beats sponsors include CareLinc Medical Equipment, Miller Welding Supply & Industrial Gases, Applied Innovation, Fifth Third Bank and Hansen/Balk Steel Treating Company.
