GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Gas prices are down across Michigan this week to $3.10 per gallon of regular unleaded.
"And that's down about 7 cents compared to this time last week," Triple-A Michigan spokeswoman Adrienne Woodland told WOOD Radio.
A decrease in demand for gasoline has helped drive the prices down. Woodland adds that the current transition from the winter blend of gasoline to the summer blend has tightened the supply.
"And so, with supply being tight like that it pretty much means that any kind of movement we see in demand for gasoline, prices are going to follow suit," Woodland said.
Grand Rapids' average price for regular unleaded is down 15 cents this week to $3.08 per gallon.
Woodland mentioned that demand can go up or down pretty quickly during the early spring.
"With spring break kind of being spread out and everyone not going at the same time, you tend to have a fluctuation in demand during this time of year," she said.
