For the third year, John Ball Zoo is inviting the public to come and experience the Grand Rapids Lantern Festival.
The 1-mile-long tour spans throughout the zoo showcasing hundreds of handcrafted Asian lantern displays, provided by collaboration with Tianyu Arts & Culture, a leading Chinese lantern festival producer.
This year's theme for the lanterns will encompass themes of Chinese mythological creatures and animals hailing for the rainforest. Guests will also participate in new interactive experiences, including lanterns that spin, move, blow bubbles or make noise.
There will also be entertainment such as food juggling and plate spinning, along with other kinds of performances on select nights.
This year's lantern festival will run until June 15. It will run from 7:30-11:30 p.m. from Wednesdays through Sundays but will begin running on Tuesdays as well beginning May 20.
Tickets, as well as further information regarding the Lantern Festival can be found here.
