GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The City of Grand Rapids will host its 10th annual summer series of weekly outdoor fitness classes beginning May 12.
The free classes are being held in partnership with Priority Health and Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. The classes are free and run until August 22 in city parks and other public places.

The 16 fitness classes will run weekly from May 12 to Aug. 22.
“We’re so excited to be celebrating our tenth year of free outdoor fitness classes this summer,” said Amy Kwaiser, fitness coordinator for the Department of Parks and Recreation. “Our outdoor fitness series combines the best of our parks with the best of our fitness classes. Not only do participants get to improve their physical and mental health, they get to do it while enjoying the outdoors. Offering these for free and to a variety of skill levels is an important step towards creating a vibrant and healthy Grand Rapids community.”
Classes will be held weekly, Monday through Friday. All classes are free of charge, no registration required. Cancellations due to weather will be announced on the Parks and Recreation Facebook page and on the department’s cancellation hotline at 616-456-3699.

- SoulfulMOTION at MacKay-Jaycees Park (2531 Kalamazoo Ave. SE) from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.
- Zumba at Rosa Parks Circle (135 Monroe Center St. NW) from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.
- Line Dancing at Richmond Park Pool Deck (963 Richmond St. NW) from 7 to 7:45 p.m.
Tuesdays, May 13 through Aug. 19
- Barre on The Blue Bridge from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.
- Glute Aerobics at 555 Monroe (555 Monroe Ave. NW) from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.
- Sunset Yoga at Lookout Park (801 Fairview Ave. NE) from 7 to 7:45 p.m.
Wednesdays, May 14 through Aug. 20
- Yoga at Riverside Park from noon to 12:45 p.m.
- Pumped Up Strength at Cherry Park (725 Cherry St. SE) from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.
- Core Blast at Roosevelt Park (739 Van Raalte Dr. SW) from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.
- WERQ at Highland Park (700 College Ave. NE) from 7 to 7:45 p.m.
Thursdays, May 15 through Aug. 21
- Sunrise Yoga at Indian Trails Golf Course (2776 Kalamazoo Ave. SE) from 6:30 to 7:15 a.m.

Fridays, May 16 through Aug. 22 (no class July 4)
- Turn Up Dance Fitness at Roosevelt Park (739 Van Raalte Dr. SW) from 6 to 6:45 p.m.
