The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum says the fountain and reflection pool outside the museum is being replaced.
The fountain has sat unused since October 2019.
The museum says they considered multiple options including repairing the feature or different ways to replace it.
A 2021 study estimated restoration of the fountain would cost between $4 million and $7 million.
The feature will be replaced with a public plaza and green space.
