Gerald R. Ford Airport introduces new mascot: Jerry the Jet

On Friday, the Gerald R. Ford International Airport revealed its first-ever official mascot, Jerry the Jet.

Jerry is meant to be a "friendly" and "engaging" character designed to enhance the airport experiences for guests, as well as promote a positive image of aviation for the community.

Jerry was created in collaboration with its marketing and advertising partner, Extra Credit Projects, and will serve as a mascot for both in-terminal as well as an ambassador for the airport for external events throughout West Michigan.

President and CEO of the Ford International Airport Authority, Tory Richardson said, "This is more than just a mascot. Jerry the Jet is a fun, approachable way for us to connect with our guests and our community while sparking curiosity about aviation. He embodies our commitment to creating an exceptional and welcoming experience for everyone who walks through our doors.”

This comes as the Ford Airport celebrated the structural completion of Michigan’s first consolidated rental car facility. It’s scheduled to open in spring 2026, with a total price tag of about $156 million.
