SPENCER TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Six students suffered minor injuries in a school bus crash Monday afternoon in northeast Kent County.
It occurred in Spencer Township, along Lincoln Lake Avenue just north of 17 Mile Road.
Kent County Sheriff's deputies say the bus was heading northbound when the driver experienced a medical emergency. It went off the road and into a ditch before striking a tree. There were 13 high school-aged students on board the bus at the time.
Deputies say the bus driver was taken to a hospital for medical treatment and two students also were transported to a hospital for evaluation.
No other vehicles were involved.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office said it is working with Greenville Public Schools and Montcalm County Sheriff's Office on the investigation.
