PORTAGE (WOOD-AM) - A bat that was found on the ground Saturday at Ramona Park in Portage has tested positive for rabies, public health officials said.
The Kalamazoo Health and Community Services Department says the bat was checked and tested positive for rabies.
"Direct contact with any bat should be avoided," a press release said.
Anyone in direct contact with or bitten by a bat should seek health from public health officials.
