TALLMADGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Ottawa County Sheriff's says a medical examiner has determined that the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man on May 9 in Tallmadge Township was accidental.
Deputies say 19-year-old Conner Lotterman was shot at a party late that night on 2nd Avenue south of Lake Michigan Drive. Deputies who responded to the home where it happened learned that a 20-year-old Jenison man had obtained a gun at the home and fired multiple rounds through the floor of an upstairs bedroom. One of the bullets hit Lotterman, who was downstairs, in the head.
Investigators suspect alcohol was a factor in the shooting.
The county prosecutor is reviewing the case for potential charges against the 20-year-old. Lotterman was from Tallmadge Township.
